THE DRAGONFLY TWIRLS

The Dragonfly, Odonata in Latin, has been twirling between the Sky and the Earth for 350 million years. Already, in the Carboniferous period, boasting an eighty-centimetre wingspan, it flew between calamites, the ancestors of horsetails that could measure up to thirty metres. THE MAN WHO PLANTED TREES

In 1953, Jean Giono, a French writer, published the short story “The Man Who Planted Trees” which soon became successful worldwide and was translated into many languages. He submitted it to the American magazine Reader’s Digest and its editors were taken aback by its realism. BIODIVERSITY INDICATORS

In 2011, the French Museum of Natural History, the French Ministry of Agriculture and the French Permanent Assembly of Chambers of Agriculture, created O.A.B, the Observatory of Agricultural Biodiversity. This project of participatory science that collects data relating to biodiversity on French farmland, aims at indexing and identifying the indicators of soil health. The farmers at the heart of this approach are themselves involved in collecting the data. This in order to recognize the practices favourable to sustainable farming and respectful of the environment. THE RICHNESS OF THE SOIL

Earth is like a sponge. It merges the mineral world of clay with the living world of humus composed of organic matter. It is what we call the clay-humus complex. In the humus, fungi, microorganisms and invertebrates can be found, all of which are involved in the work and enrichment of this complex.
